Job Description

The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Missouri School of Medicine/University of Missouri Healthcare is seeking an academically oriented, AP board-certified, surgical pathologist with fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Pancreaticobiliary Pathology. This is a full-time appointment at Assistant Professor rank on the non-tenure clinical track.

We seek a 3rd GI/Liver pathologist to help out our current GI pathologist as well as to participate in some general surgical pathology signout. The surgical pathology practice accessions approximately 20,000 surgical pathology cases annually with a large case variety; subspecialty signout is in place for neuropathology, eye pathology, hematopathology, gynecological pathology, and GI/Liver pathology. There are opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department and within the larger UHMC system, including Ellis Fishel Cancer Center, and the Columbia campus.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD, or MD/PhD, or DO degree and be Board certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology. Eligibility for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Missouri is required.

The successful candidate should possess strong surgical pathology diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in GI/Liver pathology. In addition to participating in diagnostic sign out of subspecialty areas, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the general surgical pathology frozen section services; contribute to medical student and resident education, and develop research projects reflective of his/her interests.

Application Materials

Interested individuals should use our online application, be prepared to upload a letter of interest, a list of at least three references and curriculum vitae.
