We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Process Engineer - Silicate Division at our plant located in Mobile, AL.

Essential Job Duties:

Directly responsible for maintaining and communicating divisional process risk procedures and implementation of process risk procedures for the Silicate Division.

Design and conduct Process Engineering Projects/Studies; Troubleshoot process/product problems division-wide; recommend design improvements to plant staff; Coordinate appropriate capital project work.

Create and administer Process Risk policies and practices; Process Hazard Review Leader (HAZOP, LOPA, What if/Checklist, and FMEA); Training materials development; Trainer and Master Trainer; Incident Investigation to Level II.

Assist plants in resolving customer quality problems as required.

Assist silicate plants with Operating Manual Updates and Operator Training Programs as needed;

Interface with the Corporate Process Risk Group, Technical Director, and Silicate plants on Process Risk related issues. Maintain Divisional Process Risk Procedures and assist plants with implementation plans; Visit Silicate plants periodically to assist with Process and Process Safety related needs. Conduct PHA revalidations for the Silicate Division; Conduct Incident Investigations as needed; Management of Change technical resource.

Provide technical support in plant audits (customer, corporate, regulatory, etc.)

Fulfill safety spreadsheet expectations (job observations, planned inspections, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or a closely related engineering field, with a preferred minimum of 5 years' process & equipment related experience and 2 years of experience with P&ID's.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve technical problems with dissatisfied customers and work as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communications, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies on weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
