The Sr. Talent Development Advisor will be a key member of the Talent Development (TD) based in Houston, TX within the Human Resources function, reporting to the Manager of Talent Development.

This position is primarily tasked with delivering training courses in person and virtually, as well as overseeing training program(s), projects or processes as assigned. The training classes consist of professional skill development, team building, and leadership courses. In addition, this person will have the opportunity to research and create interactive learning content. This person will communicate and interact daily with all levels of the organization (along with the rest of the team) while facilitating interactive and visually appealing learning content in instructor-led and web-based training environments.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, passionate, highly comfortable with public speaking, interested in the development of others, and has the desire to excel with the highest level of accountability and integrity. The ability to independently and intelligently reason, successfully solve problems, and manage multiple tasks and projects through execution is highly valued. A successful candidate must have solid communication skills, and the ability to intuitively listen for thorough understanding of the client's concerns or interests.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts instructor-led professional training, such as leadership, management, team building, and employee development courses to large in-person and virtual audiences.
Participates in follow-up activities (surveys, refresher training) to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and incorporate changes as required.
Registers/book internal workshops/courses in Learning Management System (LMS), and records attendance after class completions.
Evaluates and identifies professional training and development needs through needs analysis and consultation with business managers and other internal clients.
Researches and implements best practices in the learning and development field.
Develops training tools for new or existing training, such as participant guides, quick reference guides, reference materials, and other learning activities as required to assist in the learning process.
Provides developmental feedback on the facilitation and design of current training to improve training outcomes.
Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Training and Development, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related field.
A minimum of seven (7) years of corporate or field experience in instructor-led training and facilitation for adult learning.
Exceptional Corporate/Business public speaking, instructional presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills.
Must be a team player, share responsibilities, and readily/graciously back up team members in an emergency.
Exceptional Emotional Intelligence skills (Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Self-Regard, Social Awareness and Relationship Management).
Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong team-oriented focus.
Working experience with adult learning and interactive training.
Expected to demonstrate Oxy values to the highest standard and become an Oxy values ambassador (Commit to good, Lead with Passion, Outperform Expectations, Unleash Opportunities, and Deliver Results Responsibly).
Experience interfacing with all levels of the organization.
Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work under deadline pressure and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and tools.
Highly proficient with using Microsoft Suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
Knowledge and skill working with synchronous web-based training applications.
Must be able to travel to field/plant locations (up to 20% travel).
Desired Qualifications:

Training Certifications with Birkman, BlueEQ, DiSC, Franklin Covey All Access Pass, HBDI, Hogan, Korn Ferry (KFLA and KF360), or MBTI
Experience with Workday Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience with Articulate 360.
Experience with Skillsoft Percipio Online Courses.
