Position Description
The Graduate Assistant for Fitness is an integral role within the fitness operations leadership team of the Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness. The 216,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility opened in the Fall 2016 and has afforded the department expanded opportunities in fitness programs. The Graduate Assistant for Fitness works in collaboration with professional staff and students to grow the program and program offerings. Over the two-year commitment, the Graduate Assistant provides leadership in fitness operations with opportunities to assist in other areas.
Task & Supervision
The Graduate Assistant for Fitness Operations reports to the Fitness Coordinator for Personal Training and Operations and indirectly to the Fitness Administrative Team. It is expected that the Graduate Assistant for Fitness functions independently under the oversight of their direct supervisor.
The Graduate Assistant for Fitness is responsible for the daily operations of the informal fitness facility areas and operations including the comprehensive management of Fitness Assistants (hiring, training, payroll, evaluation, etc.), procedural development in fitness areas and progressing programming to meet the needs of the Department of Recreation and Wellness. |
