The Richfield Public School District currently has volunteer opportunities available for the 2024-2025 school year. Seeking Crossing Guards to monitor street intersections and assist students and families who are walking or bicycling to school. Certain crossings may be staffed by an additional crossing guard or a student safety patrol member.
Time Commitment: 1-3 hours daily, depending on location, split between school arrival and dismissal. We anticipate most shifts to take place 7:00-8:45 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m.
This position requires passing a mandatory 90-minute online training course (access to a personal computer required to complete). A background check will also be conducted. Physical requirements: All crossing guards are required to be able to guide students from one location to another, typically across the street, for at least one hour at a time. All applicants must be able to work outside including during inclement weather. This is an initiative of the RPS Safe Routes to School program. This position is available as an employment opportunity as well. |
