This position entails managing the daily activities of mechanical teams, focusing on the maintenance and operational efficiency of locomotives and freight cars. Learn more about our Experienced First Line Supervisor This is a full-time(40hrs/wk) position in a 24x7 operations environment, subject to on-call, overtime, nights, alternatingshifts, weekends, and holidays. Travel and Relocation is required after the 6-month program, must be flexible with their location, as they could be moved depending on business needs. Key Responsibilities: Supervise the inspection, maintenance and repair of railcars and locomotives safely and efficiently. Oversee mechanical shop employees in a union environment. Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel. Ensure labor and equipment is positioned to inspect, test and repair equipment to meet the needs of the daily plan. Foster relationships with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Safeguard compliance with BNSF's employment policies, safety rules, union agreements, and Association of American Railroads (AAR)/Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations. Daily work is conducted in an indoor/outdoor safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, climbing ladders, walking on uneven or elevated surfaces and heavy/moving machinery.
