Job Summary |
The Department of Geosciences is looking to hire a part-time
Academic Programs Administrator to support a Research Coordination Network funded through the National Science Foundation to better understand water security and the health of private well users in the Gulf Coast Region.
The objectives of the network are (
1) The creation of a strong, coherent, and visible community of scientists, students, and professionals from diverse agencies (academia, industry, non-profit, government), (
2) Generation of new and interdisciplinary knowledge about the existing and future health burden experienced by private well users, and
(3) Strengthening of cross-cutting partner relationships that will sustain this research and education avenue. |
Essential Functions |
Essential Functions Include but are not limited to:
- Gather, develop, and share project information, action plans, and deliverables with internal and external project stakeholders
- Design, coordinate, and distribute a semi-annual newsletter
- Manage social media and website content
- Monitor project progress and provide management support to the project lead

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications |
Level I: Bachelor's degree with coursework in geosciences, environmental science, or natural resource management fields with 0 years of experience.
Level II: Bachelor's degree with coursework in geosciences, environmental science, natural resource management, or related field plus 2 years of experience in program coordination.
Level III: Bachelor's degree with coursework in geosciences, environmental science, natural resource management, or related field plus 4 years of experience in program coordination.
Substitutions Allowed for Education:
When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional relevant experience toward the education requirement, at a rate of two years relevant experience per year of required education. Indicated experience is required. |

Minimum Skills and Abilities |
- Strong coordination, organization, and time management skills.
- Team player and able to work effectively with diverse work groups in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be fluent in English.
- Knowledge of social media platforms
