Job Summary

Develops and coordinates a comprehensive program for the repair, maintenance and monitoring of physical plant equipment and all mechanical equipment for assigned campus according to established procedures.

This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, * 427.8 (2020).


Essential Duties

Works in conjunction with the Facilities Maintenance Manager and other Maintenance Engineer Supervisors to coordinate and train staff in all activities related to the mechanical operation of the campus plants and facilities, including safety.

Initiates and implements operating procedures and preventative maintenance; schedules maintenance and repair projects.

Develops specifications for contracted work and supervises work to insure compliance.

Monitors Federal, State and City codes to assure compliance in all areas.

Monitors boiler and chiller operations to insure the safe and efficient operation of a plant facility.

Reviews operations log, noting hours worked and the amount of equipment down time.

Requisitions supplies and materials needed.

Makes recommendations concerning campus operations, procedures and policies to ensure maximum efficiency and safety; reviews MSDS Sheets to ensure personnel are in compliance.

Monitors water treatment on hot, chilled and cooling tower water systems to insure they are at proper treatment levels.

Performs other duties related to the position as required or directed.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

First Class Engineers license and State of Oklahoma Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman's license required. Prefer education and/or formal training on equipment requiring a First Class Engineer license.

Minimum of three years direct experience on equipment requiring a First Class or Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman's license.

Universal E. P. A. Refrigerant certification required.

Experience supervising and coordinating the work of others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience developing and coordinating preventive maintenance programs.

Experience reading mechanical, electrical and plumbing blueprints; equipment troubleshooting experience required.

Working knowledge of computer based building automation system required.
