Job Summary
The Inside Sales Manager will monitor sales metrics and manage the entire sales administration process. They will collaborate with various professionals, so it's essential that they have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable working in a team environment. They should also be able to lead and motivate the sales team to achieve specific goals. Ultimately, the Inside Sales Manager should be able to build a high-performance sales team to ensure customer satisfaction by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Advises and instructs subordinates in all aspects of work.
- Evaluate, develop, and train new employees and review progress of subordinates periodically with Branch or District Manager.
- Handles difficulties with customers and coworkers with diplomacy and seeks assistance when needed.
- Establishes goals and objectives for assigned area to meet overall department goals; develops and implements new and revised methods or procedures to improve efficiency and help achieve goals.
- Resolve customer order problems and complaints promptly. Reviews complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution.
- Determines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
- Identifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
- Establishes or improves relationships with customers to better understand sales territory, schedule and customer needs by phone and customer visits.
- Talks with customers by phone or in person to receive orders for products. Makes phone calls to regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. Back up counter personnel on a needed basis.
- Describes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Solicits sale of new or additional products. Sell and promote branch and company -wide promotions and specials as directed.
- Work with outside salespeople and management on sales strategy, target account development, and any other customer related issues.
- Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven work experience as an Inside sales supervisor
- Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Excel
- In-depth understanding of the sales administration process
- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude
