The Installation Technician in this role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining DAS systems within commercial and residential buildings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain DAS systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess RF coverage and identify optimal antenna locations.
  • Install cabling, antennas, amplifiers, and other DAS components according to design plans.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and optimal performance of DAS systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to coordinate installation activities and meet project deadlines.
  • Document installation activities, including site surveys, equipment configurations, test results, and as-built drawings.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on DAS system operation and maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certifications in DAS installation and/or RF engineering (e.g., ETA, IWCE, BICSI, etc.).
  • Additional technical certifications or coursework preferred.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of proven experience in installing and configuring DAS systems, preferably in a commercial or data centers.
  • Experience with fiber optic cabling and networking.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to wireless installations.
  • Read, write, and understand English, bilingual is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • PIM testing knowledge.
  • Ability to conduct Sweep testing including RL and DTF testing.
  • Coax connectors terminations knowledge.
  • Spectrum Analyzer basic understanding
  • Understanding of DAS IBwave designs
  • Strong understanding of RF principles and wireless communication technologies.
  • Proficiency in using RF testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, including excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to learn and support new and quickly evolving technologies.
  • Good work habits under pressure, flexible during times of change.
  • Ability to work within deadlines while maintaining high work quality including ability to prioritize work deliverables and multi-task.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
