This Engineer will perform CAD design entry for electrical printed circuit board designs using industry standard toolsets consisting of Orcad Schematic Capture and Allegro PCB design tools, or Altium Designer.
This Engineer will also enter designs for mechanical parts, such as brackets, cables, or housings using industry standard design tools, such as Solidworks, and will facilitate manufacturing of the circuit boards and mechanical designs entered at Nintendo technology partners.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years related experience
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Multiple designs shipped using industry standard PCB design tools. Altium, Orcad, and Allegro experience a plus.
  • Experience with transmission line theory and how it constrains practical PCB design. Please highlight any trainings or experience in this area on your application.
  • Experience with high speed signaling and power delivery on PCB designs that contain elements such as PCIE, DDR4, MIPI, SD/SD Express.
  • Expert knowledge of IPC standards and design for manufacturing best practices for printed circuit board design.
  • Working knowledge of circuit board assembly, especially as it applies to PCB design, such as solder stencils, assembly drawings, solder mask layer, and component placement for optimum manufacturing yield in solder wave and surface mount situations.

Preferred experience:

  • Current knowledge of Solidworks and experience creating and manufacturing mechanical parts.
  • Knowledge of FCC part 15 and design best practices to pass the regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic discrete transistor theory and common topologies for transistor- based IO used to drive LED's, wired OR type circuits, and I2C type buses.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, USB, UART, RS232, I2C signaling and board design best practices.
