Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled 3D Modeler to contribute to the GRACE (Green Reimagining of Agriculture in a Controlled Environment) project. This project is dedicated to reducing greenhouse carbon emissions and fostering a sustainable Controlled Environment Agriculture ( CEA) industry through research, education, and outreach. As part of this initiative, you will collaborate with our computer science team to develop a virtual reality greenhouse for student interaction.
Essential Functions

  • 3D modeler would be translating the ideas from someone's imagination into a three-dimensional visual model (preferred .FBX file, but .STL, .3ds is acceptable)
  • Create a computer design that's drawn to scale, often adding details like texture, color, and light
  • Create 3D models using computer software (i.e. Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, Blender, Sketchup) based on description provided
  • Meet with project leadership, graphic design staff, and team members in computer science to understand project needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University
  • Proven experience with 3D design software and creating detailed models.
  • Ability to transform ideas into realistic 3D representations that meet project specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with various project teams and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
Pay Rate $15.00/hour
Work Hours 5-10
