You can explore the details of our benefits offering by visiting the following link: https://jhhs.mybenefitsjhhs.com/ Summary: Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor assists staff Anesthesiologists in preparing and performing a variety of anesthesia preparations and procedures in the operating rooms and in remote anesthetizing locations. Acts as a member of the Anesthesia team by preparing patient / machine interface for the delivery of anesthesia and the management of the patient during surgery. Assists in the sterile and aseptic preparation of the patient for the placement of pulmonary artery, central venous and, arterial and venous monitoring lines. Obtains physiologic samples for analysis, obtains physiologic readings by using invasive monitors and provides data to the anesthesia team responsible for the Critical Care Management of the patient during the surgical process. Applies all equipment used in the operative care of the anesthetized patient and performs all duties as outlined in the Departmental guideline manual and at the direction of the Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetist staff (CRNA), Critical Care Technician Manager/ACCM Operations Manager, or Lead Technician. Maintain all anesthesia equipment, instruments and supplies before, during, and after the operative procedure. Provide prompt, courteous customer support, including but not limited to the dependable diagnosis of simple equipment failures and malfunctions and support hospital intubation program (within and outside the operating rooms). Is competent in a variety of anesthesia preparations and procedures in the operating room setting and in remote anesthetizing locations. Supports the anesthesia team by preparing, maintaining, and cleaning equipment used within an anesthetic course. Is competent in the use of sterile and aseptic technique when assisting and introducing invasive lines into the patient. Is proficient in processing equipment used in anesthesia and the management of the anesthetized patient. Is competent in troubleshooting anesthesia equipment failures as a first responder. Is competent in the use of care of different age patients and is aware of the special needs of these patient populations. Is competent in setting up anesthesia equipment, monitoring, and rapid blood delivery devices, for intra-operative and post-operative use. Uses knowledge of sterile technique to assist with central line and pulmonary artery catheter placement. Draws samples for laboratory analysis. Readies anesthesia equipment for subsequent use. At the conclusion of each case and as directed in the departmental policy and procedure manual. Participates in the training/orientation of new staff members to the operating room setting. Education/Work Experience: Track 1: High School diploma or GED required. Successful completion of Allied Health certification (i.e. CMA, CNA, EMT, etc.) or a minimum of one (1) year of pre-professional health degree track with sciences concentration. Track 2: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in OR/ICU/PACU setting or a pre-professional clinical internship. Preferred: EMT, EMT-B, EMT-P and/or High School pre-professional clinical internship (approved by Manager) or college, and/or college with Pre-Nursing, Physician Assistant, Medicine or Pharmacy intent Required Licensure, Certification, etc. Basic Life Support CPR certification within three (3) months of hire.
