JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, assists students in defining educational and career goals. Advises students on seeking and completing internship and experiential learning opportunities. Guides IRSC students and alumni through the career development cycle, which includes self-assessment, utilizing career assessments, conducting career readiness workshops and building networking skills. Provides resources for program of study research and transfer requirements for other institutions. Educates students about the interview process, including application procedures, resume and cover letter writing, portfolios development, and interview techniques. Meets with students to discuss jobs listings and offer advice on specific jobs of interest. Promotes student enrollment, retention and completion. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand for long periods, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College. |
