Responsibilities Provides direction and oversight of Home Infusion Pharmacy Branch staff; Maintains established policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of services; Evaluates performance and maintains quality assurance; Provides prescribed medications according to professional standards and practices; Advise patients, caregivers and medical and nursing staff.
- Lead the infusion pharmacy team to service patients receiving specialized and infusion therapies administered in the home setting.
- Monitor daily operations of the pharmacy department focusing on quality and efficiency while promoting safety, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, including safe handling of chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs.
- Oversee infusion business operations, including monthly inventory, reconciling daily deliveries, evaluating medication and supply shipments and invoices to improve inventory control and maintain budgetary compliance. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of perpetual inventory, including but not limited to the biennial inventory of all controlled dangerous substances.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and adhere to all medication use and ensure network and departmental pharmacy policies and procedures and compliance with Federal and State laws and accreditation standards.
- Enter or verify and process medication orders into the Pharmacy information system accurately. Performs regular review of orders and/or performs tests to ensure compliance.
- Assure that required documentation is performed and completed accurately. Interventions and ADR's are reported.
- Ensures the coordination and interpretation of laboratory monitoring of drug therapy.
- Ensures the ongoing performance improvement of the care provided by the pharmacy team.
- Ensures the turnaround for medication orders are completed in a timely manner and ensures accuracy of processing.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to provide specific instances of satisfactory completion of acceptable projects or identification of a problem, offering a possible solution to it.
- Ensure that all pharmacy staff follow protocols and procedures for proper hand washing, gloving and gowning when working in an ISO Class 7 Clean Room before compounding any sterile admixtures to minimize touch contamination while compounding. Ensures that all pharmacy staff demonstrate strong aseptic compounding skills when working in ISO Class 7 Clean Room and maintain compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 Compounding Standards.
- Support nursing, intake, sales and warehouse teams to provide excellent customer service delivery to home infusion patients.
- Responsible for talent selection ( interviewing and hiring) and training pharmacy team members in all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains clinical pharmacy knowledge. Obtains a minimum of 30 continuing education credits per two-year licensing cycle and attends at least 50% of educational sessions offered by the Pharmacy Department internally.
- Successfully completes assigned tasks in the allotted time frame.
- Participates in on-call Pharmacist rotation.

- Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 8 hours a day.

Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Minimum of Two (2) Years Pharmacist Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business Applications or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
- Minimum of Four (4) Years Pharmacist experience
- Minimum of Two (2) Years Pharmacy Supervisor or above experience
- Proficient in Brightree Infusion EMR Software
- Proficient in EPIC EMR Software
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Registered Pharmacist License.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- Compounded Sterile Preparations Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCSCP)
