Under supervision, work as support staff in the Genomics Core at the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology, University of California, Riverside. The Genomics Core is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Staff Research Associate working in the Genomics field. Under direct supervision, the successful candidate will perform common and specific laboratory and data analysis to support functions in the Genomics Core Facility. Specifically, the staff research associate will participate in the operation of instruments available at the Core Facility and provide sequencing-associated services, including but not limited to DNA/RNA extraction and quantification, setting up of Sanger sequencer, next-generation sequencing platforms, long-read sequencing platforms, single-cell sequencing instruments, as well as next-generation/long-read sequencing library preparation, operation of liquid handlers, sequencing project management, maintenance of laboratory logs, and contributing to the general operation of the laboratory. The staff research associate will also assist in sequencing data processing by using standard pipelines and software via local computers and remote servers. This is an exciting opportunity to learn state-of-the-art sequencing techniques and the latest developments in the growing space of the genomics field. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.

The full salary range for the Staff Research Associate is $26.78 - $31.97 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $26.78 - $27.95 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
