The Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Senior IT Manager- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

As a Senior IT Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting this mission by leading critical ERP projects that enhance our administrative and operational capabilities.

Purpose

Dell Medical School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Manager to oversee the management and implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex ERP implementations and upgrades, with experience in systems such as Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft. This role is critical to ensuring that Dell Medical School's ERP systems meet the needs of the institution and support its mission of transforming healthcare through innovation and excellence in education and research.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage all phases of ERP projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, define project goals, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, including project teams, budgets, and timelines, to ensure project success.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize impact on project delivery. Proactively address issues and implement solutions.

  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management plans to facilitate the smooth transition to new ERP systems and processes. Ensure effective communication and training for all stakeholders.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet high-quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Reporting: Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, including status reports, progress metrics, and performance evaluations.

  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with ERP vendors (e.g., Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft) to ensure project requirements are met and contractual obligations are fulfilled.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on ERP systems implementation and upgrades. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required. Strong understanding of ERP systems, project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and change management processes. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in an academic or healthcare environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree is preferred. Experience with Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Additional certifications related to ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle) are preferred.

Salary Range

$110,000+ depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
