Description Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is a not-for-profit social service agency with more than 100 program sites throughout the state of Illinois. Our services include mental health and substance use treatment; services for returning citizens after incarceration; housing and services for older adults and individuals with ID/DD; and a variety of services for children including foster care and adoption. LSSI is hiring a full-timeCentral Intake Coordinator. The Intake coordinator responds to all intake inquiries (in-person & telephonic) received and completes initial screening for new clients within the behavioral health service line. The intake coordinator schedules initial intake appointments with the appropriate programs. The Intake Coordinator is a hybrid position that works out of 4840 W Byron St. Chicago, IL 60641 Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays 9am-7pm Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10am-6pm Saturday 9am-1pm Benefits and Perks: *LSSI is growing! The paid training you need to learn, grow, and succeed! Essential Functions: Respond to incoming calls from potential clients seeking services. Refer clients that do not meet criteria for LSSI services to care coordination for evaluation and linkage to additional resources. Verify benefits and match insurance coverage to the appropriate service or provider. Maintain superior knowledge of LSSI programs and alternative community resources. Manage influx of new clients and program size, especially for inpatient programs. Proficient use of electronic health record and client tracking systems. Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or related human service field. Master's degree preferred. Some experience in social services field preferred. Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred. Team-oriented. Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software. There will be minimal driving required for this position. Copy of auto insurance and valid IL drivers' license required.
