The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The HVAC Controls Mechanic performs operations as required by job work order and/or blueprint or diagram in preventive maintenance, operation and repairs to various types of boilers and refrigeration plant equipment used in building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities



  • Must be experienced in repair and maintenance of all types of pumps; repairs, replaces bearings, bushing impellers, shafts, couplings, packing, drive belts, and sheaves without direct supervision.
  • Repairs or fabricates parts using standard machine shop tools.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of fans, and troubleshoots.
  • Services all types of pneumatic and Electra pneumatic building systems computer control interfaces
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or the equivalent required.
  • Four years of trade school required, or equivalent combination or education and experience required.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of technical training in the HVAC field and two years of experience in maintenance troubleshooting of all control systems.
  • A total of six years' experience in the HVAC is required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • NYC refrigeration license highly desirable.
