Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to assist in developing and maintaining advanced analytics tools by utilizing machine learning and predictive analytics techniques. It results in pricing enhancement, early fraud detection, loss control efficiency, customer experience improvement, better broker selection, and better claims reserving.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, examine, and clean up large sets of data.
  • Assist in developing linear predictive models, such as time series, generalized linear model (GLM), and generalized addictive model (GAM).
  • Assist in developing machine learning models, such as gradient boosting machine (GBM), XGBoost, natural language processing (NLP), neural network, and random forest, with minimum guidance.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining linear predictive and machine learning models.
  • Assist in data collection of special projects and perform additional duties as required, such as aerial images collection for geospatial analysis and research on generative AI application.
  • Assist in visualization solutions for monitoring model results and managing portfolio performance.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related subject required. Master's degree or above in data science preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of data science work related experience in data mining and machine learning required.
  • Experience with insurance background preferred.


Skills:

  • Understanding of predictive modeling algorithms and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in manipulating big structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, VBA, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent adaptability on new technologies and programming skills.
  • Ability to understand on business needs and thrives to provide timely solutions.
  • Forward thinking on artificial intelligence solutions and implementation.


The salary range for this role is $70,200-$128,100. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
