The Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Surgical Education Laboratory Specialist to work under the Managing Director of CASIT. In this role you will oversee and carry out all day-to-day functions of the Center in all locations, including but not limited to, Rosenfeld and CHS. Those functions include but not limit to equipment support and operation, education session set-up and clean-up in CASIT and Surgical Science Laboratory (Cadaver Lab), proctoring FLS/FES and FUSE examinations, technical support to learners of various backgrounds as needed. Additionally, assists with administration and service relationship management for the Center. Works with IT services to support CASIT's local area network, software development, internet connectivity, troubleshooting computer hardware, and resolves local & network printing issues.

Pay Range: $76,800.00 - $158,500.00 annually
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of PCs and Macs.
  • Working knowledge of all computing technology in use in CASIT (computers, mobile devices, peripherals, networks, operating systems, commonly used software applications, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer and network issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Working knowledge of network applications, such as Access, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in database development and ability to write efficient program codes for specialized and/or customized applications using Access.
  • Working knowledge of all audiovisual technology in use in CASIT (devices, switches, recorders, codecs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of add-on components, peripherals, and sharing devices.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software vendors and of maintenance providers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AV system issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Working knowledge of surgical skills training devices, including simulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, precise, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct reports, memos, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical and administrative information.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise software used by CASIT members, including research, clinical and education applications.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
  • General knowledge of UCLA policies and procedures.
