Job Overview: Join our growing healthcare team as a Cardiovascular Critical Care Physician, contributing your expertise to a dynamic and collaborative multidisciplinary environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across two leading tertiary care facilities, each distinguished by their 3-star STS (Society of Thoracic Surgeons) cardiac surgery programs and the highly respected Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute. Opportunity to care for patients with temporary and durable mechanical support as well as cardiac transplant patients. 0In addition to cardiac critical care, you will have the chance to provide specialized medical critical care and explore leadership roles based on your experience. For those with a passion for pulmonary medicine, there are additional opportunities for inpatient and outpatient pulmonary work.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with eminent cardiac surgeons and cardiologists to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Contribute to the management and treatment of medical critical care patients, applying your expertise to complex cases.

Stay at the forefront of cardiovascular medicine through continuous education and training.

Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Evaluate and treat patients with pulmonary conditions for those interested in pulmonary medicine.

Actively engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Medical education opportunities available.

Qualifications:

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Board certification in Critical Care.

Experience in cardiovascular medicine, with a focus on postoperative cardiac surgery care, cardiology, and medical critical care.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of North Carolina.

Essential Responsibilities/Functions:

* Performs medical history, physical examinations, routine assessments and determines treatment plan for patients.

* Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a timely and medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record

* Acts as a patient and family advocate for the population served

* Participates in continuous quality improvement priorities, service delivery processes and service excellence initiatives

Education, Experience and Certification:

Degree of MD or DO from accredited medical school

Board Eligibility in a clinical discipline is required; Board Certification in a clinical discipline is required within three years of start date/contract effective date; Once obtained, Maintenance of Certification is required
