Electrical Engineering Analyst- HV Stack Test

Role Summary:

This position is a local EV high voltage stack test analyst that will develop and execute the performance and reliability test on module level components to support the electric vehicles for the NAR to ensure market requirements are met. Has close linkage with counterpart in Germany to ensure the correct test method be implemented locally and evaluate the test result in spot to ensure the quality of the test report for the component level release according to VW standard.

Role Responsibilities:

Support the local produced high voltage battery system development and release (70%)

* Ensure deep technical understanding of current products planned for the North American Region(NAR)

* Understand the high voltage battery system from technical perspective and relevant VW design and test standard (for example VW80000 etc.)

* Develop the high voltage battery system test case according to the assignment from colleague from Germany

* Execute the HV Battery system test plan at the in-house facility or ensure the test execution by external supplier, support the failure analysis accordingly and ensure the quality of the final testing report

Test equipment management and high voltage battery benchmark test (30%)

* Manage the test equipment and instruments as assigned

* Communicate and manage the external testing resource if necessary


* Support benchmark test of the high voltage battery system in both component level and vehicle levels from the competitor in the regional market
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

* 3+ years of experience with electrical vehicle high voltage components (battery system preferred) testing

Or

* 4+ years in Automotive Testing


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - required
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - desired


Skills:

* Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic

* Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written

* Computer savvy - skilled in the use of software

* Integration - joining people, processes or systems

* Influencing and negotiation skills

* External and Internal Resource management, including time and VW funding


* German skills written and verbal are advantageous

Specialized Skills - Required:

* Experience with electrical vehicle high voltage components(batteries system preferred) verification and validation test development and execution especially focus on the system electrical performance portion

* Technical understanding of current and future electrical vehicle high voltage battery system, and also familiar on the battery system application in the electrical vehicle


Specialized Skills - Desired:

* Knowledge of automotive battery testing instrument suppliers

* Experience with high voltage battery system electrical performance test case development

* Vehicle controller development and testing experience


* Ability to analyze test results at a high level of understanding and accurately and effectively communicate them with internal partners

Work Flexibility:

* Frequently traveling to the suppliers(ext. lab) and the R&D department in Wolfsburg, Germany

* Increased extended travel to Germany during the initial phase of the work

* Be able to work under the relative high voltage environment (<1000V DC)
