The laboratory investigates mechanisms of liver disease and regeneration with the goal to develop new therapies (Groeger, Nature Communications 2023; Chen, Cell Stem Cell 2020; Schaub, Nature 2018). The position is part of a larger effort investigating the mechanisms of genetic risk factors of steatotic liver disease using human induced pluripotent stem cells. Candidates should be experienced in standard molecular and biochemical techniques, directed differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells into hepatocytes and CRISPR gene editing. Expertise in advanced imaging methods and knowledge of lipid and glucose metabolism would be advantageous. Specialists appointed at the associate rank must have a master's degree (or equivalent degree) in biology or a related field or at least 5-10 years of research experience.
