The Department of International Health is seeking a Senior Research Assistant to work on developing literature review protocols on the state of evidence in maternal immunization. The selected candidate will conduct all necessary research activities such as data management, screening, extraction, and analysis for successful completion of the project. The Senior Research Assistant will also oversee the scheduling, organization and be responsible for conducting key informant interviews for the project. In addition to research activities, the candidate will be responsible for all project management activities required for the successful completion of the project. They will serve as a critical member of the team and will work closely with other team members, including the Principal Investigator, and support administrative activities for the project, as needed. The Senior Research Assistant will assist with the development of a scoping review protocol, develop data extraction tool, support trainings for other research team members, screen and extract data, support the analysis and synthesis of findings, contribute to the manuscript writing process, and prepare bi-weekly project updates. He/she will also develop the key informant interview guide, identify and liaison with respondents, conduct interviews, and lead the analysis of the interviews. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage meetings and communications with external research partners, committees, and workgroups, including setting and distributing agendas, preparing meeting materials, and preparing minutes.
- Contribute to the development, review, and revision of reports and scientific papers.
- Review, compile, and succinctly summarize information from varied sources, including the scientific literature in vaccines, as needed to inform study decision-making.
- Track and manage multiple program activities and project-related issues simultaneously. Develop systems and tools for organizing and tracking project activities, timelines, and study implementation.
- Provide management and coordination of projects with a high level of organization, attention to detail, accuracy, and interpersonal and communication skills sensitive to the needs of the internal research team, project sponsors, and partnering external organizations.
- Generate and maintain professional and complete documentation for projects and deliverables.
- Communicate regularly with principal investigators and collaborators to review data harmonization and data analysis progress.
- Make strategic recommendations and implement decisions to meet project goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. MPH or MS in relevant field preferred.
- Two years of related experience
- Additional graduate level education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
Preferred Qualifications
- MPH preferred.
- Prior experience in conducting systematic reviews.
- Prior experience working in health or related fields.
- Familiarity with systematic review software such as Covidence is important.
- Prior experience in conducting virtual interviews is required.
- The candidate should be flexible in working across time-zones and in multi-cultural teams.
