General Notes

  • This position is currently in-person

  • Must be able to attend occasional special meetings or events outside of normal business hours. Must be able to travel on occasion, including overnight and out of state.

Purpose

This position will coordinate and support the successful implementation of the fundraising strategic plan and all operational aspects of the various steps of the funding process.Use project management processes and tools to streamline and improve operations. Work with Center leadership and teams to maintain and improve our culture of philanthropy and the associated workstreams that support it.

Responsibilities

  • Codevelop and coordinate the successful implementation of an annual strategic fundraising plan to secure funding for ongoing and new Dana Center initiatives, including strategies to diversify funding while supporting the culture of philanthropy

  • Work with the operations team to implement the fundraising strategies developed by creating, using, maintaining, and improving work streams with knowledge management systems. Work with the communications staff to disseminate fundraising goals and strategies internally and externally.

  • Serve as a project coordinator for the overall funding process, from organizing proposal development all the way to proposal submission. In collaboration with Center leadership, programmatic leads, and the operations team, coordinate interim and final reporting, and ensure follow through of next steps. Capture proposal milestones and other tools related to project management. Coordinate the writing and completion of proposals with Center staff, including ensuring findings from evaluation and supporting materials are accessible to staff and integrated into funding proposals.

  • Work with Directors, College of Natural Sciences and UT Development to organize fundraising meetings, conferences, and trips. Prepare and coordinate needed materials to support our fundraising plan and events, including talking points, funder research, or previously developed concept papers. Track funding opportunities and next steps.

  • Facilitate communication among Dana Center staff, external service providers, and consumers of services, resolving or redirecting issues in a timely fashion, assessing, researching, and prioritizing internal and external correspondence, and drafting responses or responding directly as appropriate.

  • Participate in processes and activities designed to establish an organizational culture that supports learning, collaboration, and collective responsibility in order to enhance professional relationships, job satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of project management or program management experience

  • Ability to communicate organizational objectives, as well as the detailed plans required to achieve goals, in a clear and compelling manner

  • Demonstrated success using knowledge management systems to organize data

  • Experience working with sensitive information or category 1 data

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including editing, proofreading, and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on a diplomatic and collaborative working style

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree

  • Project management professional (PMP) Certification

  • Experience organizing and running events

  • Demonstrated success in working with all levels of an organization.

  • Knowledge of non-profit, government, and corporate philanthropy landscape

  • Experience using: Smartsheet, UT Box or similar, Zoom, Canva, Canvas, Adobe Acrobat

Salary Range

$67,000 - $70,000
