Under the general direction of the Manager of Support Services, Admin Nurse, Asst. Dir Nursing & Operations OR and the Hospital Lab Tech Supervisor the Patient Specialty Services Tech primary function is to assist the anesthesiologist in preparation of equipment needed to administer anesthesia; setting up invasive lines for patient monitoring, performing cell saving procedures, setting up laser and video equipment and assisting in laser procedures, setting up other O.R. equipment and performing clerical and coordinating duties as assigned by Patient Specialty Services Tech supervisor and RN charge nurse. Working hours primarily days will be expected to rotate shifts, and cover call, weekends, nights and holidays. Function as member of a team. Inherent duties include but are not limited to, proper care of instrumentation and equipment, utilization of all safety measures and the accurate completion of all documentation. Qualifications

2 years of experience as an Anesthesia tech required. Experience with Rapid
Transfuser
andinvasive intravenous patient lines required. Anesthesia Technician Certification
Preferred. Writing
skills for accurate documentation. Skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Skill in speaking English language with medical/surgical terminology. Ability to comply with department standards inclusive of attendance, dress code and varied work schedule. Current CPR certification required. Knowledge of Infection control and health surveillance, OSHA, Universal Precautions, Waste Management, handling of hazardous substances and medical Device Act. Ability to meet physical requirements of the job relating to lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing 50lbs. or more. Extensive walking, standing and manual dexterity in operating equipment. Should have strong electronics background recommended as well as experience with anesthesia machines. |
