POSITION: Kitchen Helper/Inside Maintenance

DEPARTMENT: Camp Del Oro

SUPERVISOR: Head Cook

STATUS: On-Call hourly

BASIC PURPOSE: To maintain all assigned areas in a manner that presents a constant image of cleanliness, order and high health standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Stock, wash and store dishes, scrub pots and pans
  • Maintain cleanliness of dish washing room and dish washing area, and of pots and pans area.
  • Sweep kitchen floor after every meal.
  • Maintain walk-in refrigerator as directed.
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning as directed by Lead Cook.
  • Lift heavy pans for cook and other assistance as needed.
  • Empty garbage and replace can liners.
  • Sweep and spot-mop dining room floor after each meal.
  • Sweep and mop entire floor of kitchen and dining hall after the evening meal.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the mop area, trash area, and washer/dryer room.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen bathroom. Sweep and mop floor on last day.
  • Assist the Camp Director and Lead Cooks with other duties as needed.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma
  • High degree of confidentiality
  • Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  • Ability to reach overhead
  • Ability to operate telephone
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer
  • Miscellaneous office equipment including but not limited to staplers, three-hole punch, etc.
