ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:



  • Schedule and complete work repair orders as assigned by supervisor or evaluate and recommend to supervisor that work be contracted out if the job is too big or requires specialized, expertise, equipment or tools the ARC does not have at its disposal.
  • Identify and diagnose potential safety hazards and report them to management in a timely manner for remediation.
  • Must adhere to all salvation army safety requirements and participate in weekly safety meetings at assigned location.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs for equipment and building services.
  • Track and record all labor/material costs of all work orders and submit reports to the Operations Manager
  • Follow up& maintain work/repair orders to ensure completion and notify supervisor.
  • Submit completed work/repair orders with all receipts to Accounting Clerk .
  • Keep necessary records (i.e. mileage, work performed, etc.) including key inventory, paint/carpet colors/codes, etc.
  • In certain situations, must be able to work overtime, or come in early as needed to complete repairs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by the Operations Manager the Center Administrator or their designated representatives.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 1-2 years of experience with light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning and heating equipment in warehouse or retail setting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Required to be able to use considerable independent judgment when performing and planning projects and tasks.
  • General knowledge of building codes required in maintenance and repair of retail or warehouse facilities.
  • Practical and varied experience in improvising repair and/or trouble shooting.
  • Must be High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess basic computer skills for Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must possess valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • General familiarity with OSHA guidelines and HazMat preferred.
  • Must possess functional reading and math skills typically necessary to the performance of the job.
  • Be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
