LOCATION: Rancho Cordova, CA

SUPERVISOR: Program Director

STATUS: Non-Exempt Part Time 7.5 hours/week

BASIC PURPOSE

We are looking to hire an exemplary youth leader to lead and guide our church's middle and high school students. The youth leader will strive to make all students understand the journey of our souls, encourage students who are interested in the knowledge of God, and support them to develop their love for Him and others. You will attend student functions at schools and home school events, grow relationships with the education community, and provide students and their families with biblical counselling.

To be successful in this position, you need to provide students with a place to belong that gives them the courage to be different and resilient to unhealthy peer pressure. Ideal candidates should have a proficient understanding of the challenges young people face and are compassionate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Attending and participating in staff meetings.
  2. Overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church's youth ministry.
  3. Designing, overseeing, and examining the curriculum for all programs, events, and classes.
  4. Leading middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth.
  5. Interacting with students during Sunday services.
  6. Developing positive relationships with students and their parents.
  7. Sharing program plans through social media.
  8. Displaying a Christ-like approach and lifestyle and praying regularly for young people in the church and community.
  9. Incorporating youth into various church ministries for His use.
  10. Growing students who are interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  1. Must have strong personal commitment to Christ.
  2. Must be a person of high integrity.
  3. Must profess Christian beliefs, live a life consistent with those beliefs, and feel comfortable discussing Christianity with children and adults.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Excellent organizational skills.
  6. Must demonstrate good judgement and act in a professional manner.
  7. Must have at least an AA degree or two years' experience in a recreation or community center and two years increasingly responsible experience in an administrative position with a background in recreation, prevention/intervention programs, or youth work.
  8. Ability to speak and write the English language.
  9. Must have a valid California Class C Driver's License.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to stand for up to 2 hours or more at a time.
  2. Ability to walk, run, and reach and grasp with hands and arms.
  3. Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  4. Ability to see close up, far distances, and color.
