POSITION: Youth Program Coordinator (DN5P5500)

DEPARTMENT: (100 Corps Community Center) / Auburn Corps

LOCATION: Auburn, CA

SUPERVISOR: Corps Officer(s)

STATUS: Non-Exempt / Part-time

BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the Corps Officer in overall youth programs and church related activities of the Auburn Corps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Organize all youth programs which take place throughout the week (includes Sunday).
  2. Responsible for recruitment and development of tutoring and mentoring program as well as supporting volunteer leadership for each of the youth programs.
  3. Collect and file all relevant youth & volunteer applications and paperwork.
  4. Adhere to, train leadership in, and help enforce the Salvation Army's Protecting the Mission Policies.
  5. Drive for corps programs, as needed.
  6. Responsible for recording all statistics of programs.
  7. Organizing and implement annual vacation Bible school, alongside the Corps Officers.
  8. Recruit children for local Corps programs/outreach, and summer camp, organizing camp applications and transportation.
  9. Develop youth in their faith, character, and person, through the Corps programs and ministries.
  10. Coordinate youth retreat and youth outings.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  1. High school diploma
  2. Bachelor's Degree in youth Ministries or equivalent years' experience preferred.
  3. High degree of confidentiality.
  4. Must become a member of The Salvation Army Corps within six (6) months of employment, if not already a member.
  5. Minimum two (2) years Secretary/Administrative Assistant experience.
  6. Minimum one (1) year social service experience preferred.
  7. Computer literate, in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Publisher, Outlook preferred.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence.
  10. Excellent organizational skills.
  11. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  1. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
  2. Must be 21 years or older.
  3. Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program
  4. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  3. Ability to reach overhead
  4. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  5. Ability to operate a computer
  6. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
  7. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
  8. Miscellaneous office equipment including but not limited to staplers, three-hole punch, etc.
