BASIC PURPOSE The Program Aide position is responsible for assisting leaders and staff in providing safe and developmentally appropriate programs for youth and adults. The Program Aide interacts directly with members of the Summer Day Camp, as well as other departments including the Community Center, youth, Corps programs and church related activities or events as needed. The Program Aide is responsible for the safety, care and well-being of children and adults in participating in various activities. This position also serves to work as a mentor, coach, and tutor youth in the programs. This may include but not limited to leading, assisting programs, or playing alongside program participants.. B. C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS 1. Education Requirements Must be enrolled and attending high school or an equivalency, must have 120 hours of verifiable work with children or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to motivate participants. Ability to follow directions and carry out assigned work. Previous experience working with children. 2. Skills Must be able to work with little to no supervision. Should be creative, self-motivated, organized, flexible, possess good people skills, and have the ability to interact successfully with the children in our care. Have knowledge of basic first aid and CPR knowledge (certification preferred). D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
