The salary range for this position is $425,000-$525,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Application Window Open date: June 26, 2024 Most recent review date: Friday, Jul 12, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Jun 26, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis is seeking two full-time, fellowship-trained Musculoskeletal Radiologists at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (title and rank commensurate with credentials and experience) in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Professor of Clinical "X" (ClinX) series. Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: the incumbent will be expected to engage in teaching, professional clinical services, scholarly activities, creative work, as well as university and public service. Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: the incumbent will be expected to engage in teaching, clinical care, research as well as university and public service. The Musculoskeletal Imaging Division is well established and one of nine divisions in the Department of Radiology. It is currently staffed with 5 faculty members and has 3 MSK fellowship positions. Overall, the department has 32 residents, and upper-level medical students and residents from other departments frequently rotate through our division. The expected candidate will work primarily within musculoskeletal imaging division. This position involves participation in patient care, service, education of trainees, and research, although less emphasis is placed on research for those in the HSCP series. As a pioneer in high-risk breast cancer screening, the Chair of the department is highly supportive of research endeavors in the department. Funds for conference travel as well as up to 20 days of conference time are embedded into department policy. Dedicated peer-to-peer mentorship, protected research time and start up packages through Radiology and/or in collaboration with other departments such as the Cancer Center are also available for those interested in research. The UC Davis Medical Center shares its medical campus with the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento. The UC Davis Health System has a strong referral system from its primary care network, as the UC Davis Health System has offices extending over throughout Sacramento with over 15 different locations. This provides the radiology department a diversity of CT, MRI, and radiographic exams. Radiographic exams are conducted throughout our Primary Care Network and Sacramento campus. Our multispecialty academic medical center has over 600 beds and is one of approximately 50 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive centers nationwide. We also serve as a Level 1 Trauma center, serving patients to the Oregon and Nevada borders. We have state of the art CT and MRI scanners for both clinical and research applications, including Canon ultra-high resolution, 128 slice, and dual energy CT scanners, Explorer PET/CT scanner, and 3 Tesla MR scanners.
