JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR and BLS training to diverse groups of individuals, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effective CPR and basic life support.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct AHA BLS and CPR training sessions for various groups, including healthcare providers, students, and community members

  • Develop and deliver engaging, informative, and practical training programs that meet AHA standards and guidelines.

  • Evaluate participants' performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure comprehension and skill proficiency

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and certification status.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AHA guidelines, training techniques, and best practices.

  • Ensure all training materials and equipment are up-to-date, functional, and meet AHA standards.

  • Ensure all training equipment, such as manikins and AEDs, is in proper working condition and available for each session.

  • Collaborate with other trainers and staff to continuously improve the training programs and materials

  • Assist in the development of customized training programs as needed.

  • Promote the importance of CPR and BLS training within the community and encourage participation in courses.

  • Completes other all duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current AHA BLS Provider certification

  • Certified AHA BLS Instructor credential

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting CPR and BLS training sessions

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to engage and motivate participants from diverse backgrounds

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Passionate about promoting CPR and BLS education and saving lives.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or as a first responder preferred

  • Familiarity with the latest AHA guidelines and updates preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach up, stoop ability to participate in physical activities related to firefighting, the ability to lift an object of fifty (50) pounds or less, and carry items in excess of fifty (50) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate Firefighting equipment, standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
