Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and lead engineering design tasks for transportation and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Prepare feasibility, safety, and geometric design studies; develop project reports.
• Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, clients, and subconsultants.
• Support project managers to ensure that projects meet established schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Train and mentor junior design staff, coop students, and interns.
• Work closely with other V3 service lines on multi-discipline projects.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals for new project pursuits.
• Handle client relations as needed.
• Attend industry networking events on behalf of V3.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a degreed Civil Engineer.
• 7+ years of design experience on projects for clients that include IDOT, Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, County DOT's, and local municipalities.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and CAD technicians.
• Microstation/OpenRoads Designer proficiency (3D modeling experience a plus).
• Illinois PE license required.
