The IR section providers are comprised of four full time physicians and one nurse practitioner. With two fluoroscopy suites and a third combined fluoroscopy-CT suite, the section provides the entire gamut of IR procedures including: interventional oncology, men's and women's health interventions, trauma embolizations, superficial and deep venous interventions, and musculoskeletal and pain interventions. Clinic and inpatient rounds ensure important longitudinal care for our patients.

Denver Health is an integrated, efficient, academic health care system that is considered a model for the nation. As Colorado's primary safety net institution, Denver Health is committed to serving all patients, regardless of the ability to pay, and caring for the underserved is part of the Denver Health mission. Denver Health serves the city of Denver and the entire Rocky Mountain region, providing the full spectrum of medical services from primary to oncologic care. Denver Health provides primary care services via a citywide network of community health centers, school-based health clinics, and a recently opened outpatient medical center. Inpatient services are housed in multiple campus buildings with 555 adult, pediatric, and OB/GYN beds. Denver Health's Emergency Medicine program is nationally renowned, with over 120,000 patient visits per year. Denver Health's Level 1 Trauma Center is one of the world's leading trauma centers and has amongst the highest survival rates in the country with IR playing a key role in the non-operative management of many trauma patients.

The IR section recently completed major renovations in 2021 with the installation of three state of the art Canon fluoroscopy suites one of which is integrated with a CT scanner - the only combined fluoroscopy-CT suite in Colorado. Dedicated provider workspaces complement the fully capable procedure suites. IR is located on the first floor of the main hospital adjacent to the emergency department with easy access to both the medical and surgical intensive care units. The extensive network of outpatient Denver Health clinics and busy ED/inpatient services generate a robust and varied IR practice with over 4500 procedures performed annually.
