Job Description

The Pain Management Technician provides support for physicians and RN's throughout pain procedures by preparing, providing and caring for instruments and equipment, and maintaining a sterile field. Other duties may include floating to PACU Nerve Block area to assist RN with sterile tray set up for nerve block procedures or assisting in a Patient Care Technician role in Pre/Post Department.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of pain management and procedures and equipment.
  • Performs all responsibilities/duties required as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
  • Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
  • Maintains supplies/inventory for department.
  • Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Pain Management department as defined in the scope of service to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of pain procedures, instruments, equipment and supply management and decontamination of equipment with demonstrated competency.
  • Ability to read and understand the English Language
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow through skills required.
  • Knowledge of Aseptic technique.
  • Ability to wear lead apron protection.
