PURPOSE

Manages sales, supply chain and sales support activities related to an assigned product or product line, including inventory, purchasing, delivering, and service in order to maximize revenues and profitability, especially in relation to competitor products. Conducts comparative analysis against competitors and provides strategic planning of product direction and features.





  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities



    • Provides customer service primarily to builders, via walk-in, telephone, or email including assisting with customer inquiries on product selection, pricing, availability, and service after the sale.
    • Directly assist Outside Sales Representatives with quoting and selling millwork.
    • Quote and sell millwork to Walk-in customers.
    • Follow up and resolve questions and challenges after the sale has been made.
    • Enter orders into the system and schedule delivery of products.
    • Plans and paces own work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
    • Participates in coordinating and conducting product presentations to customers.
    • Handles and resolves simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to more senior staff for resolution.
    • Assists with store housekeeping, signage, and other related activities.
    • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) month sales-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Competencies



    • Knowledge of company products, competitors' products, and company standards
    • Knowledge of company product pricing, discount and estimating formulas and guidelines
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrates strong detail orientation skills.
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Knowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts, and the ability to influence and persuade.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise planning (ERP) program

    • Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
    • Standing or walking for 80% of the day. Stooping and kneeling throughout the day.
    • Reaching-extending the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
