Position description

The School of Engineering anticipates hiring full and part-time and lecturers positions to teach the following courses in the professional Master of Management Program for AY 2024-2025:

Fall 2024 - MIST 202: Managerial Finance and Accounting

Spring 2025 - MIST 206: Entrepreneurship and Innovation

MIST 208: Law, Policy, and Risk Management

Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding regular posted office hours (minimum 2 hours/week), and evaluating student work and exams, and calculating and posting grades. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant, reader, or remedial tutor.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. See the following url for additional information:

Appointments for AY 2024/2025 and/or Fall 2024 semester are reviewed in May/June, and for Spring 2025 semester are reviewed in October. The posting will remain open through February 2025 to accommodate upcoming course needs and new applicants.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications

Advanced degree in a relevant area or related field and professional experience working in a related field or teaching at the college or university level are required.

Preferred qualifications

A record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
