Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is currently hiring a Full Time, Day Shift Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist for the Cath Lab in Williamsburg, VA.

Up to 10K Sign on Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates!

Hours

  • Monday - Friday between 7am-5:30pm. This position requires "on-call" with a 30-minute response time.

Overview

A Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, also known as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, is a healthcare professional who assists physicians with diagnostic imaging, vascular intervention and treating various cardiovascular conditions. They are skilled in performing invasive procedures, such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and electrophysiology studies. This role involves working closely with a team to ensure patient safety, procedure accuracy, and effective care delivery. Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during cardiac catheterization, and vascular laboratory procedures. Provides patient care and drug administration commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.

Education

  • Graduate of a diploma, associate, or bachelor level program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

  • BLS

Experience

  • 1 year of related experience required
