From your PASSION to ours Responsible to ensure the site is socially responsible with energy consumption. Works with all departments to ensure projects have the correct energy needs established. Source the cleanest energy available to meet our operational needs as well as minimize our negative effects on the environment related to our effluent discharge and emissions. Works closely with plant management on all initiatives related to electricity and gas. Submits cost savings projects to help reduce energy consumption by staying on top of new technical ways of delivering energy. Ensure hot spot audits are conducted as required by regulatory agencies. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: * Identify site energy reduction targets provide some discussion on reasonableness of target as well as how the facility plans to meet the target. The target should be based on total energy consumed on-site (electric and fuel) Identify any carbon reduction or electrification goals. * Initiate and develop an energy management plan that is a living document that is updated throughout the year and works towards the facility provided energy goal. * Assist the Engineering team in determining energy needs for Capital Projects and modifications. * Work with Engineering and Maintenance Management team to meet the Groupe sustainability goals related to carbon footprint. * Develop and/or maintain an energy tracking and monitoring system. * Develop and/or maintain a cross-functional energy team and hold monthly meetings. * Develop a strategy for energy savings Measurement & Verification. * Conduct walkthrough audits and reports that identify savings opportunities (Capex, O&M, etc.) for further investigation; provide reports to NYSERDA and the facility for review and comment. * Review maintenance operational schedules and procedures to identify operational savings opportunities and develop preventative (rather than reactive) maintenance plan. * Schedule employee training sessions to address the identified operational misuses that impacts energy. * Ensures existing installations and new installations meet code and are of safe design. * Develop and propose energy and productivity as well as beneficial electrification projects, including developing the Quarterly savings reports that document results from both capital upgrades and operational changes. * Project management check-ins with NYSERDA via conference call at least once per month. * Create a report that documents overall effort and progress against facility energy goals. * Prepares the plant for all regulatory inspections of records by physically compiling all of the data being requested ensuring the right time frame is submitted for auditing. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education * Bachelor's Degree or Engineering Degree Experience * 5 - 6 years' experience in maintenance department preferred or equivalent * 5 - 6 years management experience * Food Manufacturing preferred * Proven track record in developing and implementing energy management plans, conducting energy audits, and identifying energy-saving opportunities in industrial or large facility settings. Specialized Knowledge * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. * Energy Management: Expertise in energy management practices, sustainability strategies, and knowledge of carbon footprint reduction techniques. * Technical Proficiency in Energy Systems: Familiarity with energy tracking and monitoring systems, energy-efficient technologies, and regulatory compliance standards for energy installations. * Project Management: Skills in project planning, execution, and reporting, including experience with capital projects, operational modifications, and collaboration with agencies. |
