We are seeking an experienced and talented Director of Security & Infrastructure Solutions to join our dynamic and innovative team. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the organization's information technology security posture and you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust and scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the evolving needs of our organization. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets, data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. The Director of Security will lead a team of security professionals and collaborate with various departments to establish and maintain robust security practices. Duties to include:
- Architectural Design: Develop and design strategic IT infrastructure solutions in alignment with the company's goals and objectives. This includes creating high-level and detailed architectural plans, selecting appropriate technologies, and defining infrastructure standards.
- Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation of complex infrastructure solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment. Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Develop and maintain the company's infrastructure roadmap, taking into account emerging technologies, industry best practices, and business requirements. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations for optimizing the existing infrastructure.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on IT infrastructure, providing technical leadership and guidance to the team. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, evaluating and recommending new technologies and approaches to improve efficiency and performance.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the infrastructure architecture and propose effective solutions to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with security standards, data protection regulations, and industry best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures. Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance, capacity planning, and system availability.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, business analysts, and executive leadership, to understand business requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Security Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT security strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives. Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies, adapting the security strategy as needed.
- Security Governance: Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and industry best practices.
- Security Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- Incident Response: Develop and maintain an incident response plan, including incident detection, reporting, and resolution procedures Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Security Awareness: Promote a culture of security awareness and education throughout the organization. Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees.
- Security Technology Management: Evaluate, implement, and manage security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions. Monitor the effectiveness of security tools and make necessary improvements.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers. Ensure vendor compliance with security requirements and standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT security budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Monitor and control expenditures within the approved budget.
- Security Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of security initiatives. Provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors on security performance and incidents.
Ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Director of Security and an IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect or a similar role in designing and implementing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions.
- Strong knowledge of networking, server technologies, storage systems, virtualization, cloud computing, and data center infrastructure.
- Proficiency in infrastructure design methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical requirements and propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Build and lead a high-performing security team, including security analysts, engineers, and specialists.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are a plu
- Some travel to remote sites required. Occasional weekend and off-hours work may be required. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking and the ability to lift files, boxes and other materials up to 20 lbs., unassisted.
