Description

Elena's Way, a Preble Street Wellness Shelter, provides shelter and intensive support services to 40 individuals experiencing homelessness and complex physical and mental health needs, in a 24-hour trauma-informed environment grounded in social work and medical best practices.

Client Support Staff positions with full-time, 3rd shift schedules are currently available in this service-inclusive, client-centered shelter program. As part of the team providing comprehensive services to individuals accessing the Wellness Shelter, Elena's Way Client Support Staff outreach and engage with clients, provide direct services and program coverage, maintain safety in program spaces, provide crisis intervention and support, and assist in case management activities.

The schedule available for this full-time (40 hours/week), awake 3rd shift position is Wednesday-Saturday, 10:30pm-8:30am.


Qualifications

Client Support Staff qualifications include:



  • Education in social work or related field of study and experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of work experience, education, and/or training.
  • Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician (MHRT-1) certification (can be obtained on the job/after hire).
  • Alignment with Preble Street's mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services.
  • Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to engage with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, with consistent and reliable attendance.



Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $22.45 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials. Direct service positions in 24/7 programs are eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
