Summary of Position Functions

The Senior Project Developer will support enterprise sales with sales strategy on individual enterprise accounts.

Essential Position Functions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Project Team, and Subcontractors.
  • Communicates regularly with all team members regarding project development progress, open and closed tasks and issues.
  • Conduct facility walk-thru to identify/verify preliminary scope items.
  • Analyze facility utility consumption, review capital and operating budgets, set preliminary performance targets and perform initial energy savings benchmarking.
  • Develop detailed MEP Scopes of Work, Specifications and Preliminary Implementation Schedule.
  • Prepare a preliminary cost estimate for the Improvement Measures that address customer needs.
  • Create a development timeline, budget, and project development control index.
  • Provide facility existing conditions descriptions, Utility Analysis, Facility Energy Profile, preliminary Facility Improvement and Energy Conservation Measure explanations.
  • Identify potential Energy Savings, applicable Utility Rebates, or Incentives.
  • Participate in the presentation of the Preliminary Analysis Report and Feasibility Report to the Customer.
  • Complete energy savings calculations and/or energy modeling for the establishment of the project's energy savings guarantee.
  • Define final project scope and revise Scope of Work Documents to rebid, as necessary.
  • Validate the Energy Savings Guarantee and M&V Plan.

Education and Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a relevant field of study; and 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced engineering degree is preferred.
  • Proven successful track record in a complex sales or project development environment, preferably in energy efficiency, solar, and/or energy storage fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relationship building, lead generation, navigation of technical and financial obstacles, contracting procedures, and deal closings.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of the enterprise verticals and their energy systems (industrial and healthcare).
  • Must possess strong technical knowledge in key technologies such as lighting, HVAC, central plans, refrigeration, and compressed air and steam systems.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of development of renewable energy technologies including solar, biogas, and wind.
  • Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
