The Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit a dynamic candidate to expand its clinical and/or basic science research programs within our Neuro-Oncology Section. The position is full time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service. We are seeking individuals who are collaborative, communicative, caring, detail oriented, organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly motivated. The Neuro-Oncology Section provides outpatient care to patients in the Anschutz Cancer Pavilion and inpatient consultations at the University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus. Neuro-Oncology faculty contribute to multiple administrative, quality and leadership roles in the hospital, department, and school. The section currently has 2 physician faculty, and one Nurse Practitioner as well as professional support staff. Clinical duties
- Acute and chronic outpatient care of Neuro-Oncology patients including administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, disease-modifying therapy, and health maintenance care.
- Monitor patients for adverse events related to therapeutics.
- Inpatient consultations for acute or chronic Neuro-Oncology patients in the University of Colorado Hospital with attendant documentation for these consults.
- Incumbent is expected to be proficient in lumbar punctures and Ommaya punctures with instillation of chemotherapy.
- Participation in clinical trials with expectation of completing and maintaining research trainings.
Educational activities
- Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinics and in the hospital setting.
- Provide supervision and training for advanced practice providers.
- Attend neurology lectures and teaching conferences.
- Train medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Support, share, and engage in continual learning and development among nursing staff, other faculty and advanced practice providers, pharmacy staff, medical students, and neurology residents and fellows.
- Periodic presentation of lectures to patients and others regarding neurological conditions and treatments.
Administrative responsibilities
- Serve as first contact for clinician level patient communications.
- Data entry into hospital systems, committee work, and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission.
- Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected.
- Ongoing CME is required.
Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

The Neuro-Oncology program at the University of Colorado is the regional tertiary referral base for the Rocky Mountain Region, serving a six-state region of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Neuro-Oncology patients are additionally supported by the availability of dietician, social work, physical medicine, and neuropsychological services. A major mission of our Neuro-Oncology Program is to contribute to advances in treatments of brain tumors through clinical trials. We offer our patients access to a range of clinical trials for various types and stages of brain and spinal cord cancers. The Neuro-Oncology program actively participates in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows with both didactic lectures and outpatient clinical rotations. The Neuro-Oncology Fellowship is a United Council for Neurological Subspecialties (UCNS) Accredited program. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor
- MD or DO
- Completed fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology or documented longstanding care
- A State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date
- Eligible for Neuro-oncology board certification or Neuro-oncology Board Certified
Associate Professor
- MD or DO
- Completed fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology or documented longstanding care
- Eligible for Neuro-oncology board certification or Neuro-oncology Board Certified
- A record of ongoing research activity and funding
- A State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date
- Applicants must have a scholarly and academic record consistent with appointment at the Associate Professor level in the School of Medicine
Professor
- MD or DO

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor - $195,000 - $210,000 Associate Professor- $200,000 - $242,000 Professor - $220,000 - $300,000 This position is eligible for the department incentive plan which would be in addition to the base salary. It is anticipated that salary will be commensurate with American Association of Medical College (AAMC) benchmarks for the proposed senior academic rank (Associate Professor or Professor level). Specific salary is commensurate with skills and experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
