Your Role With Us:

Salem Hospital is currently seeking a Palliative Care physician to join our Palliative Care team. Our Palliative Care program has a collaborative interdisciplinary team, who have developed and fostered strong relationships and support throughout the organization. The team is comprised of physicians, Social Workers, RN, support staff, with access to Chaplains and an Ethicist. As a Palliative Care physician at Salem Health your schedule will consist of four 10-hour workdays, totaling 184 annual shifts.

Background/Expertise:

Education:

  • Graduated from an approved school of medicine.
  • Two years of relevant clinical management with prescribing experience required.
  • Fellowship training or 2-3 years of experience in palliative care preferred,
  • MD/DO in a primary medical field appropriate to ABHPM standards and 5 or more years of experience in a clinical specialty.

Licenses/ Certification/ Registration:

  • Current unrestricted license as a physician in the State of Oregon.
  • Current, valid and unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration certification
  • Maintains active clinical privileges as delineated by the Medical Executive Committee.
  • Current board certification in medical or surgical specialty and American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM); or completion of Palliative Medicine Fellowship and ABHPM certification or board eligible and achieve board certification within 5 years of employment start date.

Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:

  • Knowledge of Lean methodology highly preferred.
