Possible schedule vaires up to 19.5 hours per week 9 AM-1 PM or 2-6 PM within the following business hours:

Academic Year: Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm
Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am - 6pm

Job Summary

This position serves as the first point of contact for students and parents seeking assistance with financial aid programs, and is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service. This role includes assisting students with the completion of financial aid and scholarship materials, as well as handling escalated financial aid issues and concerns.

Essential Functions

50%- Provide accurate and consistent front-line customer service/assistance to students and parents regarding financial aid programs and related services. Analyze/ interpret regulations and respond to inquiries requiring detailed knowledge of regulations and policies. Ensure compliance with all financial aid policies, and adhere to superior level of customer service.

20%- Use computer database and basic office equipment to assist students with electronic or paper financial aid forms/documents.

20%- Support all day to day operations in the Financial Aid office.

10%- Review/process reports, awarding, answer phones, as well as communicate with students via e-mail and chat.

Minimum Qualifications

6 months to one year cumulative experience (within the last three years) working in a Financial Aid office or student service area.

Excellent customer service skills; that includes a courteous and positive disposition

Excellent listening skills, including attention to detail.

Effective oral/written communication skills

Experience and ability to navigate computer databases and basic office equipment, some Microsoft apps, data entry, internet, chat, etc.

Experience and ability to multitask, organize, prioritize and meet project deadlines

Punctual and reliable

High school diploma/ GED or equivalent

Special Working Conditions

Applicants must be in good standing with all U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid programs and eligible to access federal websites required to perform job duties.
