About This Role:

Project Managers will provide management for assigned capital and non-capital projects, to include: Procurement of professional design services overseeing design team during design delivery process, project scheduling, project budget, pre-qualification of contractors, material preparation for solicitation of contractor bids, management of contractor selection process within boundaries of State of Kansas guidelines, processing and approval of invoices, field inspections, monitoring construction progress and project close-out. Obtains warranty certificates, operating manuals, and affidavits for issuance of Certificates of Substantial Completion / Occupancy. Manages project close-out process to ensure smooth transition from construction phase to occupied use by occupants and operation by maintenance staff.

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree and threeyears of relevant experience
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license with good driving record.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge construction project delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local codes and standards of construction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Is comfortable in highly fluid work environment; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly organized; ability to plan ahead so as to maximize efficiency based on available resources.
  • Ability to travel to on and off campus locations for business activities.
  • Experience in large capital project delivery.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in a university setting or similar environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Science.
