Responsibilities:



  • Building evaluations and modifications, seismic analyses and rehab, oversight of outside engineering firms, and machine installations.
  • Proficiently develop structural designs including drawings (plans, sections and details) for various materials of construction (concrete, steel, masonry, cold-formed steel, timber), engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, structural calculations, equipment anchorage, report preparation, drafting or oversight of drafting, and preparation of construction specifications in the form of general notes on the drawings.
  • Effectively and cooperatively work as a team member of an integrated project team, or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task and will routinely provide design verifications and squad checks.
  • Provide input to system engineers and other plant customers.
  • Routinely perform walkdowns in the existing plant facilities in order to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
  • Must be willing to work in a production environment.
  • Technical expertise and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of Structural Engineering.
  • Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1), and a variety of CSA related issues relative to non-reactor nuclear facilities, natural phenomena events, structural rehabilitation, and building evaluations.
  • Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with consensus design codes.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Active Q Clearance.
  • 20 plus years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
  • CAD drafting experience not required but preferred, along with any 3D modelling experience.
  • Structural modelling experience with STAAD Pro and GT STRUDL also preferred.
