Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Westside Hospital provides care to Albuquerque's Westside and Rio Rancho, including a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical capabilities such as Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), bariatric and orthopedic service lines.

Responsibilities

  • Applies massage therapy principles and techniques when selecting treatment to affect the desired patient outcome.
  • Documents and modifies massage therapy techniques as needed to achieve goals including client/family education and recommendations for post discharge needs.
  • May provide community outreach services as requested.
  • Maintains documentation of client treatments.
  • Educates the client and/or caregiver about the findings of the massage evaluation, the established goals of the massage therapy program, the plan of treatment, injury prevention and other related information while recognizing clients learning preferences and barriers.
  • Responsible for completing basic massage therapy competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.
  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
  • Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service".

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of a licensed massage program
  • Licensed in massage therapy within the State of New Mexico
  • CPR

Preferred Job Requirements

  • One (1) years of previous job-related experience to include chair and clinic massage
